Joan A. Clear
Joan Clear of Monon, passed away on Sat., Sept. 7, 2013 at her residence.
Joan was born on July 2, 1942 in Clark County, IN to the late Alfred and Mary (King) Jackson. Joan was a 1960 graduate of Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg.
She married Gerald Clear on Jan. 22, 1982 in Las Vegas.
Mrs. Clear had worked at the Purdue University
Math & Science Building for over 18 years, managed the Victorian Bay Resort at Indiana Beach, and was co-owner with her husband of a convenience store and also drove semis cross country with her husband.
Joan was a lioness in the Camden Lions Club.
She enjoyed playing Bunko, fishing, mushroom hunting, traveling to 49 states and spending time with her family.
Along with her husband, Gerald, she is survived by her son, Michael Koning (wife: Kim) of Romney; step-children: Julie Mears (husb: Tom) of Delphi; Tom Clear (wife: Kim) of Logansport, Jake Clear (wife: Becky) of Camden, and siblings: Rosemary "Ro" Lantz of Monticello, Frieda Jefferson (husb: Mark) of Bordon, IN, Martha Bolly (husb: Tom) and Alfred Jackson (wife: Rhea) of Memphis, IN; 8 grandchildren: Ashley, Mike Jr., Jon, Karissa, Tony, Nic, Emily, Abigail, and great granddaughter, Alexis. She was preceded by sons: Patrick & Paul Koning; sister, Ruth Braden, and brother, Elmer Jackson.
Viewing will be at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi from 4-8:00 p.m. on Tues., Sept. 10, 2013 with services at the funeral home on Wed., Sept. 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastors Bob Cree and Dean Burnetts officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Rockfield.
