John D. Rady, 82, of Monticello, died unexpectedly Thurs-July 18, 2013 at IU Health Arnett ER-Laf. He was born July 12, 1931 in Putnam Co., IN, to the late John F. & Ada Stevens Rady. His marriage was to Maxine Burget in Crawfordsville, on Apr 15, 1950, and she survives. He attended New Ross School, and was a U.S. Army
Veteran of the Korean War
, while serving, he completed mechanics school. From 1954-1959, and 1966-1968 he was a owner/operator of his own semi, he then went to work for Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power from 1959-1966, and then from 1968, until his retirement in 1994. He also drove a semi for Russ White Trucking for 3 months in 1998; for Foodliner Trucking from 3-99 to 7-2000. He also received his certificate for training from Good Year motor wheel joint safety program in 91; L&B School of Welding in 92; and a Dale Carnegie Course in 93. He was a member of the Crawfordsville American Legion. He and his wife enjoyed canoeing, and traveling in their RV all over the United States. He enjoyed mechanics, turning wrenches, fixing things, was good with his hands. He dearly loved his wife and daughters, grand & great-grandchildren, and his many friends. Surviving: wife Maxine Rady of Monticello; daughters, Linda (Randy) Wagoner of Clearwater, FL, & Judy Moore of Cincinnati; grandchildren Mike, sp Eve, and Bethany; 2 great-grandchildren Adalie & Vivian.
