Judith Mary Evangeline Johnson, 97
Judith Mary Evangeline Johnson, 97, of Wolcott, passed away at 12:27 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at her residence.
She was born October 18, 1915, in Crown Point to the late James and Anna (Thone) Shultz. She graduated from Brookston High School in 1934.
Her marriage was to Clyde Johnson on April 11, 1936, in Brookston. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1993.
She was a member of Wolcott United Methodist Church, and the Rebekah Lodge, where she was State Musician and held various offices for the District.
Judith was a homemaker as well as an accomplished pianist, playing the piano for the Wolcott Methodist and Baptist Churches. She wrote her own music and played the violin.
Surviving are six children; Clyde Johnson Jr. (wife: Carolyn) of Homassasa Springs, Fla., Michael Johnson of Wolcott, Martha Allison (husband: Ronald "Red") of Forsyth, Mont., Nancy Sutton of Wolcott, Kathy McCorkle (companion: Brian McIntosh) and Sandy Johnson, both of Lafayette; a son-in-law; Frank Heinzelman of Wolcott; a sister; Lloyd Collins of Wolcott; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; 2 nephews and 5 nieces.
She was preceded in death by two daughters; Judith Heinzelman and Helen Mize; two sisters; Annabelle Sutton and Hazel Wright and six great-grandchildren.
A Rebekah Service will be held at 4:45 p.m., with visitation to follow from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2012, at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home of Wolcott. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2012, at Wolcott United Methodist Church with Pastor Wayne Williams officiating. Interment to follow at Meadow Lake Cemetery of Wolcott.
