Mary Ellen Miller Welk, 85
Mary Ellen Miller Welk, 85, of Delphi, died Monday, December 31, 2012, at 6:05 p.m., at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center-Delphi. She had been a resident there since June, and in failing health. She was born February 6, 1927, in Tippecanoe County, to the late Homer and Ella Eikenberry Miller. Her marriage was to Charles G. "Bill" Welk, on her parent's farm in Tippecanoe County, on November 28, 1946, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2007. She and her husband lived in the Rossville area for many years, before moving to Delphi in 2003. She attended Dayton High School. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church New Conference.
Surviving are Son: Leon (Linda) Welk, Delphi, Daughter: Linda (Fred) Wise, Delphi: Brother: Kenneth (Velma) Miller, Rossville; Sister-in-law: Nellie Kessler, Rossville, Brother-in-law: Galen (Donnabelle) Welk, Rossville. 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins who also survive.
Preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Marlee Abbott; brother-in-laws Floyd and Edith Welk; Marlin and Edna Welk; Marion Kessler.
Services: Friends may call Wednesday, from 4-5:30 and 6-8 p.m., at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi. Funeral service Thursday, 10 a.m., at Victory in Christ Fellowship Church, 115 N. Washington St., Flora, new conference home brethren officiating. Burial at North Fork Church Cemetery, Pyrmont.
