Olga V. Panteleyeva-Sanders was born on October 14th, 1954 to Zinaida and Vladimir Panteleyeva. She was baptized in Kiev, Ukraine. She attended the Ukrainian University of Food Technology for undergraudate and graduate degrees. While studying at the university, she met and married Vitalii Lyskova,and to this union, a daughter, Alona Lyskova was born. They were later divorced. She taught Economics and Marketing at this same University for over 20 years. She was especially appreciated and loved by her students and advisees. She was asked various times to be Department Head but turned it down to concentrate on her teaching. She attended a University exchange program with Purdue University in 1997, where she met John Sanders, whom she married on March 8th, 2002 in West Lafayette, IN. After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2007 she taught herself with a little help from a friend to paint. Over the next five years she filled her house with over 60 beautiful paintings to the amazement of her family and friends. Her courage and love of life through multiple treatments and disease recurrences have been an inspiration to her family and friends. She died at home on October 20th, 2012. She is survived by her mother Zinaida, her daughter Alona, and her husband John.
