Opal Ridenour

Opal M. Ridenour, 93

Opal M. Hankins Ridenour, 93, of Flora, died Tuesday-January 1, 2013, at 10:15am, at Milner Community Healthcare-Rossville. She had been a resident there for the past 4 months. She was born March 12, 1919 in Howard County, to the late Earl & Nida Glee Porter Hankins. Her marriage was to William C. Ridenour in Burlington, on May 17, 1937, and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2006. She was a 1937 graduate of the former Irvin Township School, Howard County. She was a food demonstrator, and worked as a sales associate for JCPenny's Department Store in Albuquerque, NM. She and her family moved there from Indiana for 25 years, then returning to Burlington in the 70's. She was a member of the First Brethren Church in Burlington. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, yard work, and canning.

Surviving: 2 daughters, Cherry Armet, Flora, & Sherry West, St. George, UT; 2 sons, Larry (Hiltrude) Ridenour, Los Lunas, NM, & Barry (Gloria) Ridenour, Texico, NM; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter; a granddaughter; a brother.

Friends may call Saturday-Jan 12, from 10am until her memorial service at 11am, at Baker-Abbott Funeral Home, Flora. Burial of her ashes at Burlington Cemetery. www.baker-abbottfh.com
