Paul Hendershot, 94
Paul (Peck) Hendershot passed away at 9:10 a.m. on February 21, 2013, at Rosewalk Village in Lafayette. He was born on November 19, 1918, to the late Faye Edwards Hendershot and Roy Hendershot of Spencer.
He married his wife, Lola Miller, on December 17, 1947, and they were married for 63 years. Paul honorably served in the US Army during WWII
from March 1941 to October 1945. He was stationed in Newfoundland with the 3rd Infantry.
He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Hendershot Wallace, (husband John) of Lafayette; his brother Bob Hendershot (wife, Sharon) of Lafayette, his sister Elsie Mae Boisvert of Belleview, Fla., 8 grandchildren: Rob Hill (wife Erin), Chris Kline (wife Andrea), Stacey Reichard (husband Steve), Amanda Willis (husband Jason), Kerri Dooley (husband, Tom), Abby Hill (companion Beth Moore), Ashley Taylor (husband Chad), Chelsea Pearce (husband Rick); and 17 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lola Miller Hendershot; his daughter Paula Hill; brothers, Lloyd, Herschel, and Hubert, and sisters, Gladys Blackburn, Helen Smelser, Maxine Shields, and Mary Jane Livingston.
Paul was an employee of Peerless Wire Company for over 30 years and was also employed at A. E. Staleys for 8 years.
Paul was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Paul was a very compassionate and caring person. His family was so very important to him. He enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
