Phil served with the Army
Air Corps from 1944-45 before joining the U.S. Air Force
in 1950, where he served until 1956 (Phil was an instructor pilot in the T-33 who taught both American and French cadets. Later, he was an Aircraft Commander on a B-29 for Air Rescue in Japan. He later transferred back to jets with FEAF prior to his separation from the Air Force in 1956). After the Air Force, Phil worked with the National Fire Insurance Company from 1956-60, the Adams Insurance Agency 1960-80 in Lafayette, then the MBAH Insurance Agency 1980 until his retirement in 1991.
A Muncie Central HS graduate, he attended Purdue University
In CO Springs, he was a member of Village 7 Presbyterian Church, volunteer for Silver Key MOW to Seniors; in Lafayette, Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, former member of Evangelical Covenant Church, Exchange Club of Tipp. Co., Lafayette Insurance Agents Ass'n., Purdue Alumni Ass'n., John Purdue Club, The Athletics Congress, Air Force Ass'n., and Wabash Valley Woodworkers Club.
