Rob L. Perkins Sr., 51

Rob L. Perkins Sr., 51, of Lafayette, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012, in St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette. He had been in failing health from lung complications.

He was born January 9, 1961, in Lafayette to the late Ralph F. and Marjorie L. (Hart) Perkins. He was a 1979 graduate of Frontier High School.

His first marriage was to Marilyn (Stewart) Perkins Carol whom he later divorced, he later married (Rice) Stevenson and they also divorced. Surviving is his best friend and wife Connie J. (Wagner) Perkins.

Mr. Perkins worked for Carry Transit as a semi-truck and trailer mechanic for several years, prior to that he worked for All-Star Tire and Lafayette Truck & Trailer as a mechanic as well.

In his spare time Rob loved working on cars and could fix anything, even if it wasn't broke. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his children, Peggy Merchant (husband: Chris) of Attica, Mindy Perkins (companion: Charles Clifton), Bobby Perkins Jr., Chrissy Wagner, Ashley Perkins, Donny Perkins, Jennifer Perkins, Chelsey Perkins, Troy Perkins, Vanessa Perkins and Dominique Perkins, all of Lafayette and three brothers, Roger Perkins (wife: Jodie) of Lafayette, Dennis Perkins of Lafayette and Tom Perkins (wife: Angela) of West Lafayette.

Rob loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Brianna, Cameron, Shaun, Riley, Jayden and Isaiah.

Also surviving is a great friend, Larry Jungels and his sister-in-law, Sandy Perkins.

Preceding him in death with his parents; is a brother, Ron Perkins; a daughter, Crystal Perkins and two sisters, Janet & Joyce Perkins.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012, at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Pastor Tom Watt to officiate. Interment to follow in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
