Robert J. "Bob" Taylor, 87, of Lafayette, died at Thursday November 8, 2012, in his Residence.

He was born October 1, 1925, in Muskegon, Mich. To the late Earl Taylor and Lulu Bebe Hershberger. He served in United States Navy during WWII.

He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School. His marriage was to Evelyn F. Winicki and they later divorced.

Mr. Taylor was a self-employed carpenter and home builder. He worked for Dahnke Builders and for Lafayette Venetian Blind as there maintenance supervisor.

Mr. Taylor enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and the outdoors. He was also a member of the VFW, the American legion Post 492, and Navy club.

Surviving are two sons, Jim Taylor, of Lafayette and Jay Taylor, of Delphi; a daughter, Janet Hale (Jim), of Lafayette; a brother, Earl Taylor (Earline), of Bethasda, Md.; four grandchildren, Jamie Hale-Catron (John), Chuck Johnson, Tami Johnson and Rob Johnson; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, James Hale Jr. and daughter-in-law, Jane Taylor.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 a.am. Tuesday, November 13, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel; Rev. Clayton Kendall officiating.

Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with military rights by Post 492.
