Robert J. Phillips

Portland Arch - Robert "Bob" J. Phillips, 73, Newberry, IN and formerly of Portland Arch, south of Attica, died in the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at 9:55 p.m.

Bob was born in Pearson, Arkansas, on November 29, 1939. He was the son of the late Carl Edward and Ruby Dorothea (Wright) Phillips. Bob was raised in the Portland Arch area and attended Attica High School. He later moved to Texas in 2003 and back to Newberry in 2009.

Bob worked for the Local # 841 and was associated with heavy equipment.

Bob was a member of the Bloomfield Congregation of the Jehovah's Witness. He enjoyed playing the guitar and piddling in his garage.

On June 22, 1996, Bob married Dorothy Pauline (Hutchison) Busenbark in Attica and she survives.

Bob leaves behind his wife, Dorothy and two daughters, Teresa Rose Snyder, Georgetown, IL & Tammy Jane Phillips, Veedersburg; a stepdaughter Rhonda Ann (Tim) Roach, Crawfordsville; a brother, Jim (Jane) Phillips, Portland Arch, IN; two sisters, Inez Walder, Bellingham, WA and Jeannette Taylor, Covington; 8 grandchildren, 2 stepgrandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Per Robert's request he selected cremation with no services.
