Ronald L. "Ron" Edmundson, 70

Ronald L. "Ron" Edmundson, 70, died in Nuremberg, Germany, on February 8, 2013. He was born in Centralia, IL. August 11, 1942, the son of the late Claude Logan and Mildred Elizabeth Drysdale Edmundson. Ron was a 1960 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Lafayette, IN and attended Purdue University. Mr. Edmundson served in the U.S. Army, from 1962 to 1982, including three tours in Vietnam. He spent the last 5 years of his Army service in Germany and retired as a Major. He was then hired by the Army in Germany as an Arms Control Specialist working for the Treaty Compliance Branch of US Army Europe until his death, a span of over 30 years. Surviving are five daughters, Dawn Edmundson (Mark) of Portland, OR, Heather Collins (Zac) of Bozeman, MT, Misty Edmundson (Dave Baggott) of Seattle WA, Morgan Edmundson of Bismarck, ND, Autumn Edmundson of Madison, MN; three stepdaughters, Rebecca Shalack of Chicago, IL, Melinda Davis Allen of Vernel, UT, Jill Southwick of Springfield, IL; one son Logan Schoneboom of Nuremberg Germany; two brothers, John Edmundson (Carol) of Lafayette, IN and Bill Edmundson (Diane) of Chicago, IL. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, and multiple nieces and great-nieces and great nephews. His brother, Dick Edmundson, and son, Scott Edmundson, preceded him in death. A Military Service with full honors will take place on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the South Cemetery in Nuremberg Germany.
