Rosemary Sherwood

Rosemary Francisco Sherwood, 88, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2012. She was a resident of West Lafayette since 1963. Rosemary was active in several community organizations, including the League of Women Voters and the Indiana Civil Liberties Union (ICLU).

She was raised in Southeastern Washington state and received her BA at Washington State University in 1945. After the war, she took a converted troop ship to Europe where she worked as Recreation Director of an Army base in Wurzburg Germany. In West Lafayette, she served as activity director at local nursing homes.

Rosemary is survived by her two sons, Todd and Mark; her daughter, Janet; and her four grandchildren, Andrew, Brian, Aria and Kai.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 13 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 600 Ferry St. Lafayette, IN 47901. A reception will follow.
