Ruth Kirkpatrick, 94

Ruth Kirkpatrick, age 94, passed away September 27, 2012, in Greensboro, North Carolina at the Golden Living Starmount. Her burial was at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens next to her daughter, Eileen.

Ruth was a long-time Battle Ground and West Lafayette, Indiana resident. She retired after over 30 years of service at Sears Roebuck. She loved the community, her many friends and especially all of her bowling league teammates.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1917, she was preceded in her death by her husband, Elwood Kirkpatrick, former professor of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University and her daughter, Eileen Thompson of West Lafayette.

Surviving are her son Tom Kirkpatrick and his wife Elizabeth of Greensboro; granddaughter Amy of Raleigh, North Carolina, granddaughter Stephanie Shibler of Willow, Alaska; nephew John Busch and his wife Marcene of Avon Lake, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren.

Tom's memories are of Mom's love, positive and fun outlook on life, her sense of humor and her laugh. But above all else, always being there and giving him the best mother one could ever have.
