Sharon Carol Douglas Peterson passed away on September 24, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on the family farm in Remington, Indiana on November 27, 1939. Sharon was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, and an outgoing friend. She loved to spoil and support her grandchildren. She was particularly fond of sports. An exceptionally creative and talented person, she painted landscapes and was an accomplished sewing machine artist. She graduated from Remington High School in the "class of '57" She was a member of the Church of the Servant United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Mitchell Douglas, her Father, Ramon Douglas and her brothers Cary and George. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jim Peterson, her daughter Roxann Dean, wife of Lee Dean of Holtville, AL, her son James Abbott and his wife Annetta of Newalla, OK, her grandchildren Whitney Dean Shedd, Lacey Dean, Kyle Abbott, and Katlyn Abbott and a great grandson, Luke Shedd, a step daughter Melinda Willsey and her family, and a step son Jim Peterson and his family. A Memorial service will be held at the Remington United Methodist Church on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., (Remington Time) officiated by Rev. Mary Van Wijk.
