William Blistain

William J. Blistain

Virginia Beach - William J. Blistain, born on September 12, 1951 in Lafayette, Indiana to William and Arlice Blistain, William Blistain peacefully ended his courageous battle with cancer on January 14, 2013 at his home on N. Witchduck Rd. in Virginia Beach. He is survived by his uncle James Stearns, aunt Arlene Stearns, his adoring sisters Bitsy Peffer and Debbie Dyckman, brother-in-law Jeff Dyckman, two nieces Casey Dyckman and Linda Farrell, and his five nephews Cory Peffer, Chad Peffer, Eric Peffer, Jeff Peffer, and Scott Crocker. Bill will be remembered for an accomplished 42-year career in restaurant management, a wealth of knowledge and trivia, a love of cooking, music, reading, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and a deep appreciation for his friends and family. But most of all, Bill will be remembered for all of the laughter; he truly enjoyed life like no other, and brought those around him along for the ride with his quick wit and infectious laugh. His ability and desire to connect with everyone, his big heart, and even bigger personality made him someone that will never be forgotten by those whose lives he touched. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed. Instead of a funeral and at Bill's request, his family and friends will be hosting a private party at his home, beginning at his favorite time of day, just before sunset/5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad 740 Virginia Beach Blvd Va Beach Va 23451. Friends are encouraged to sign the online guest book and share your favorite "Hoot" stories with the family at hdoliver.com
