Richard E. Rawles

Richard E. Rawles, 55, of Lafayette, died Monday evening, July 22, 2013 in Henry County, IN near New Castle as a result if injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident while driving for United Parcel Service. Richard was born in Lafayette, IN March 7, 1958 the son of John Richard Rawles, and the late Carole J. Laugheed Rawles. He was a graduate of Clearwater, Florida High School, attended Purdue University, and received his Associate Degree from UMA. Richard married Kelli A. Martin at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette August 27, 1983, and she survives. He was currently employed as a driver for United Parcel Service the past three years, and had previously been employed as an inventory specialist at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and IU Health. Richard was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and was a collector of antiques. He enjoyed doing carpentry work and spending times outdoors.

Surviving with his wife are his father, John Richard Rawles of Clearwater, FL; two daughters, Rachel C. Rawles (fiance Nicholas Poynter) and Erica A. Rawles, and a son, Mark C. Rawles, all of of Lafayette, IN; and a sister, Tammy Telling of Clearwater, FL. Also surviving are aunts, Janet (Larry) Reagan of Clearwater, FL and Bonnie Templeman of Plymouth, MA along with several cousins.

Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette, from 4 until 7 PM Friday, with the Rosary service at 3:45 PM Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St.Lawrence Catholic Church 10:00 AM Saturday, Fr. Dan Gartland officiating, with interment in St. Boniface Cemetery.
