Arlen D. Brown, 98, of West Lafayette, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus.
He was born January 18, 1914, in Huntington to the late John and Flora Day.
He served in the United States Navy from October 31, 1942, to November 2, 1945, serving as an Aviation Chief Machinist. On May 31, 1959, he married Marcia Bratton in Indianapolis and she survives.
He was a graduate of Purdue University with an Agriculture Education Degree he later became a professor in the Ag Engineering dept. and retired in 1979. Mr. Brown was a member of the American legion Post 11 and serving on the firing squad for many years.
Surviving is his wife, Marcia Brown, West Lafayette.
Private services will be held at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel followed by entombment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with military rites by American Legion post 11.
