Brenda Kay Wright, 56

Brenda Kay Wright, 56, of Rensselaer, passed away March 5, 2013, at her brother's home in Rensselaer. Brenda was born February 8, 1957, in Rensselaer. She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Loretta (Sutherlin) Ritter. Brenda grew up near Morocco, Ind. and attended North Newton High School.

On August 19, 1977, at the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Rensselaer, Brenda married Win Wright who survives.

For the past 15 years Brenda was the Associate Lawn and Garden Manager at the WalMart store in Rensselaer. She was previously the manager for two years at Family Express; was a dispatcher for both the city and county police and a cook for the Jasper County Sheriff Department; worked 9 years for Jackson Hewitt during tax season and worked at the former A&P Store and Northway Products. She also had worked for the Tippecanoe Beverage Wholesale Company, Winamac, and was a stocker for WalMart, Strack VanTill Grocery and CVS. Brenda was a member of the Jeff Gordon Collector's Club, the National Pepsi Club-CA and had been a Girl Scout leader. She was an avid NASCAR fan with racing at Bristol being her favorite track. She loved bowling and greatly enjoyed her bowling trip to Reno.

Brenda is survived by her loving family, husband, Win Wright, of Rensselaer; daughter, Tina (husband: Chris) Wolf, of Bloomington, Ind.; son, Kenny Wright, of Ocala, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kerrick and Kaeden Wolf and Hailie and Josalyn Wright; and her brother, Brian (wife: Brenda) Ritter, of Rensselaer.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer with Pastor Benjamin Hertel officiating. Burial will follow at Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer.

Memorials may be made to the Girl Scouts of America or the I. U. Simon Kenton Cancer Center, Indianapolis, Ind.
