Bruce Wayne Darling, 65

Bruce Wayne Darling, 65, of Prescott, Ariz., passed away June 11, 2013. He was born March 6, 1948, in Lafayette, Ind.

Bruce, one of six children born to Melvin and Alice Darling, graduated from La Puente High School in La Puente, Calif. Bruce then joined the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. Afterward, Bruce returned to Southern California where he met his wife-to-be, Linda Colgate. Married in 1970, the couple moved to Lafayette, where Bruce became a police officer for the City of Lafayette. In 1979, the couple, along with two children, returned to California and settled in Tulare. Bruce continued his law enforcement service as a police officer for the City of Tulare before moving on to become an investigator for the District Attorney of Kings County. In 2005, Bruce retired from Kings County and he and his wife moved to Prescott. While in Prescott, Bruce worked as a bailiff for the Yavapai County Court.

Bruce was best known for his infectious smile and his desire to make other people laugh.
