Carolyn Kettler Ashouri, age 58, died Saturday, January 26, at her home in Lafayette, IN surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her beloved husband Amer and her two sons, Adam and Zachary. Carolyn was born on October 21, 1954 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, to the late Roland Lynn Schafer and Janet Bosworth Schafer Chronister. Carolyn graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Home Economics in 1977. She attended the McCormick Theological Seminary, University of Chicago and received a Masters of Divinity in 1987. Carolyn was an avid reader, loved to cook and most of all, nurtured those around her. Beyond her husband, and sons, she is survived by five sisters, Susan S. Burke, Elizabeth S. Shuck, Julia S. Tipton, Barbara S. Ceresa, and Sue Molick; and two brothers, Tom Chronister, and Jack Chronister, along with 18 nieces and nephews. She was devoted to her family and her home. She will always be in her family's heart and will forever be missed.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Ft. Wayne, Indiana (300 West Wayne St.) with a service celebrating her life at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to Guardian Angel Hospice, Lafayette, Indiana.
