Clifford L. Butler

ATTICA — Clifford "Cliff" Lee Butler, 74, Attica, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 1:30 a.m.

Clifford was born near Independence, in Warren County, Indiana, on March 29, 1939. He was the son of the late Robert and Edna (True) Butler. He was raised in the Independence - Pine Village area, graduating from Pine Village High School. He played basketball for the Pine Village Pine Knots.

He later lived in Oxford before moving to Attica in 1989.

Clifford worked as a heavy equipment operator both privately and for different companies.

He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1482 of Attica. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and especially reading.

Clifford was first married to Ruth Ann Datzman. She preceded him in death. He married Susan I. (Gustus) Small on September 30, 1989 in Attica. She survives.

Clifford leaves behind his wife, Susan; a son, Kenneth (Pam) Butler; two daughters, Jennifer (Tim) Hollander and Lynda (Eric) Storsved; two step sons, Jimmy (Annie) Small and Christopher (Desirae) Small; eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Butler and a sister, Florence Harper.

Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, April 20th, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Carolyn Lesmeister officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the or the Wounded Warrior Project.
