Cynthia (Blankenship) Dexter, 60, of Lafayette, died at 6:03 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 in her home surrounded by her family. Born April 7, 1953 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Harold and Joetta (Boggess) Blankenship of Lafayette. Cynthia was raised in the Lafayette area and graduated in 1972 from Southwestern High School. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Lafayette where she was a devoted church member and a "prayer warrior". Cynthia loved the fellowship she spent with others and helping those less fortunate than herself. And more importantly, she cherished the time she spent with friends and her family.
Surviving with her parents, Harold and Joetta Blankenship of Lafayette are her two children, Jason Burghardt and his wife Michel of Monticello and Danielle Leuck and her husband Jaret of Lafayette, one brother, Terry Blankenship and his wife Amanda, three sisters, Marci Johnson and her husband Jerry, Marietta Connell and her husband Jim, and Marna Boles, all of Lafayette. Cynthia is also survived by her four grandchildren, Dakota and Winter Burghardt and Zeke and Cale Leuck.
The family will receive friends from noon Thursday until the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God, 108 Beck Lane, Lafayette.
