Donald G. "Don" Clouse, 86, of Lafayette, passed away in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth East Hospital at 6:54 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013. Born May 8, 1927 in Lafayette, Don was the son of the late William and Inez (Edwards) Clouse and had lived his entire life in Lafayette. Don married Edna Mae Dowell on June 21, 1947 in Lafayette and she survives. He served with the United States Army in the European Theatre during WW II and was honorably discharged. Don worked as a glass glazer with Lafayette Glass for over 60 years before retiring. Don was a life member of the American Legion Post #11 and the VFW Post # 1154, a member of the 40 et 8 Voiture, and a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local # 1165. He enjoyed figuring out mechanical problems, working on cars, but more importantly, spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Edna, Don is survived by their two children, Debra Macy (husband, Mike) and Steven M. Clouse, both of Lafayette, a former daughter-in-law, Mary Clouse Kiewitt of Indianapolis, 16 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ron Clouse, a sister, Rosemary, a granddaughter, Jessica, and 3 brothers, Raymond, Gene, and Bill.
Visitation 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Hippensteel Funeral Home with the service at 10 a.m. Monday in Hippensteel Chapel, Rev. Dr. Clayton Kendall officiating. Entombment to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the
