Dorothy R. Sollers, 63, of Dayton, Ind., went home to be with her Lord Savior Jesus Christ on December 4, 2012, at Wishard Burn Unit in Indianapolis after suffering extensive burns from an apartment fire.
Dorothy was born March 23, 1949, in Williamsport. She was the daughter of Phillip and Beulah (Johnson) Sollers. She lived the majority of her life in the Lafayette area. She was married to Harold L. Kincade, the father of her children, and they later divorced. He preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a homemaker most of her life. She worked for a short time at The Trackside Inn in Delphi and at the Delphi and Lafayette armories. She also sold Avon, Tri-Chem Paints, and was a girl scout leader. She enjoyed watching and listening to Nascar and her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. She also enjoyed fishing, country music, watching and listening to Joel Olsteen. She loved to babysit and to play cards. She loved her bird, Tiki.
Surviving are, two daughters, Tammy L. McCoy (husband: Todd), of Lafayette and Julie A. Saubert (husband: Ralph), of Monticello; three sisters, Edith Kell, of West Lafayette, Gladys Stone, of Otterbein and Marilyn Emerson, of Pine Village; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, December 8, 2012, from 10 a.m. until service time at noon. Interment will follow at Independence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wishard Burn Unit or the memorial account in her name at Regions Bank in Lafayette.
