E. Ermina (Young) Williams, 92, of West Lafayette, died at 4:15 p.m. Friday December 7, 2012, in the Westminster Village Health Center. She was born August 4, 1920, in Moran, Clinton County to the late Harold and Bertha (Kingery) Young. After high school, Ermina went on to attend Indiana Business College. She married C. Ray Williams Jr. on August 25, 1940, in Geetingsville and he preceded her in death on January 15, 2010.
Ermina retired from Purdue University after several years where she worked as an administrative assistant in the Bio-nucleonics Department in the School of Pharmacy. Prior to that, she had worked as an administrative assistant at the former Charles Lakin CPA office. Ermina was a member of the Federated Church in West Lafayette, Wives of the World on Purdue Campus, and formerly was active as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, quilting, crafting and was an avid reader.
Surviving are a son, Norman (Ruth) Williams, of Lafayette; a daughter, Karyn (Wynn) Lidell, of Woodbury, Minn.; two sisters, Frances Mansfield, of West Lafayette and Joanne Haines, of Orange Park, Fla.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Shaver.
