Eugene Klemm Obituary

Eugene R. Klemm, 72

Eugene R. Klemm, 72, of Lafayette, died at 4:35 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at IU Health Arnett Hospital. He was born July 10, 1939 in Lafayette, the son of the late Eugene R. and Johanna Anna Schaaf Klemm. He graduated from Buck Creek High School and received his B.S. degree in Industrial Economics from Purdue University in 1961. He also attended the Interpreters Institute at the University of Heidelberg in Heidelberg, Germany while serving with the United States Army. Eugene received the Medal for Meritorious Service as an assistant supervisor in the Communications Center at the Army's Intelligence Division, European Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany and was honorably discharged form the U.S. Army in 1967. He than began his work at Delco Electronics in Kokomo, where he worked for 30 years, and was the supervisor of developmental engineering in micro-circuitry before retiring in 1997. Eugene is survived by three brothers, William Klemm, Fred Klemm, and Kurt Klemm, all of Lafayette.

Visitation will be Tuesday 1-2 p.m. at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Masonic Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Tuesday followed by the funeral service with Rev. Dr. Ronald Wunsch officiating.
