Frank M. Clark

West Lebanon - Frank Melvin Clark, 79, went to be with our Lord, May 22, 2012, after a long illness.

The son of the late Benjamin F. and C. Marie (Bowlus) Clark, was born August 9, 1932, on the family farm in West Lebanon. He was a graduate of West Lebanon High School in 1950 and Purdue University in 1954. At Purdue he studied Animal Science. Frank was a P-Man in baseball as a pitcher at Purdue.

An ROTC student, Frank entered military service at Fort Sill, OK, serving in the U.S. Army.

At Purdue, Frank met Winifred "Wini" Miller. They were married September 4, 1954. They have four daughters, Kathryn (Mark) Shephard, Karen (Kerry) Thomas, Margaret (Jackson) Morgan and Michele (Adam) Dalton; ten grandchildren, Kyle (Stephanie), Kristen and Katie Thomas; Colt, Clark and Cassidy Morgan; Carter, Isabel, Lincoln and Pearl Dalton; four step grandchildren, Patrick Shephard, Misty, Jamie and Lindsey Morgan; eight step great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard A. "Dick" (and the late Marge) Clark; four nephews, Mike (Anna), Kelly and Rick (Carol) Clark; Mike (Pendora) Miller. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Scott Clark.

Frank farmed in Warren County for 55 years.

He served as President of the Indiana Beef Cattle Association, St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital Board of Directors, the MSD of Warren County School Board, Elder of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Chairman of the Indiana Board of Animal Health, Warren Count Council, member of the Warren County Local Economic Development Board and Local Emergency Preparedness Team and was appointed to the National Beef Check-off Board.

He had been a member of the John Purdue Club since 1969, the Animal Science Scholarship Selection Committee, Advisory Board to Animal Disease and Diagnostic Laboratory, Committee for Class of 1954 Golden Anniversary Class Gift. He endowed the Frank and Wini Clark Beef Industry Scholarship. He hosted the Animal Science 181 farm tour and the Indiana Farm Management Tour, served on PCARET, was 4-H Horse & Pony and Beef Superintendents.

Friends may call at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, corner of 3rd and Clinton St., West Lebanon, on Monday, May 28th, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the church on Tuesday, May 29th, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Roger McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery.
