Geneva F. Draper Storey, 90

Geneva F. Draper Storey, 90, of Delphi, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at 12:21 p.m., at her daughters home near Greencastle. She had been ill for 15 months, and lived with her daughter, who cared for her. She was born Jan. 27, 1922, in Bringhurst, to the late Phillip & Ada Belle Young Draper. Her marriage was to Kellar Carson Storey in Rockfield on Jan 3, 1939, and he preceded her in death on Mar 19, 1998. She attended the former Flora High School. She was an aide at area nursing homes and then did childcare at her home for many years, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Delphi Pentecostal Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She enjoyed baking homemade pies and noodles for her church bake sales; crafts; and making quilts for her family. She loved roaming the local woods and being outdoors, fishing, mushroom hunting, berry picking, and canning. She also enjoyed making sock monkeys for her family and many friends, and the family encourages anyone who has one of her sock monkeys, to bring it to her funeral.

Surviving: daughter: Geneva and Leslie Lucas, Greencastle, daughter: Kellaretta Howard, Monticello, son: David and Janie Storey, Delphi, son: Richard and Carole Storey, Delphi, son: Raymond and Mary Storey, Frankfort; sister: Dorothea Storey, Delphi; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son Joe; grandson Ed; 2 brothers; 4 sisters.

Services: Friends may call Friday, 5-8 p.m., at Abbott Funeral Home-Delphi, service there Saturday, 11 a.m., Rev. Tim Stewart officiating. Burial at IOOF Memorial Gardens-Pittsburg.
