Imogene L. "Jean" Tague Meekins, 87
Imogene L. "Jean" Tague Meekins, 87, of Delphi, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at 4 a.m. at her daughter's home, where she has lived for the past five years.
She was born Apr 16, 1925, in Lafayette, to the late Ray Tague, and her mother. She was married to Robert V. Meekins in Lafayette, on Dec. 24, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 2008.
She attended Jeff High School. She was a homemaker, and had worked at the former Brown Rubber Plant in Lafayette. She and her husband lived for many years in the Tecumseh Bend area, moving to Delphi in 2005.
She enjoyed gardening, yard work, crocheting, music, puzzles and bird watching.
She dearly loved her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren and all of the many family gatherings and events they shared. That was her life, her beloved family.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca (James) Shaw, of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Kay (Michael) Priest, of Delphi; a brother, Chet Tague, of Lafayette; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. until her funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi. The Rev. Ed Selvidge officiating; burial at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lafayette.

Sorry for your loss. I remember visiting your mom & your dad @ the river with my mom Margie Knowles. Margie passed a way Jan 10th. They were both great ladies. I hope in heaven they reunite have more great times.

So sorry for your loss Becky and Kay .. I use to be best of friend's with becky.. (when we went to Oakland) Then to find out over the year's that She lived on the bend.. My daughter Angie Miller got very close to bob and jean.. Called them grandma and grandpa Meekin's... What a wonderful lady she was.. And now she can be with her loving husband again..

I am very sad to hear of her passing. She was one of the nicest ladies I had ever met and always seemed to have a smile for me. Kay, her daughter, and I were best friends growing up and her mom always had a kind word for me. I will truly miss her. Prayers and Love to the whole family.
