James Philip Barnett, 27, of Austin, Texas, died June 3, 2013, at his home in Austin. He was born August 20, 1985, in Indianapolis to Randall F. and Charlotte S. (Russell) Barnett.
James was a 2004 graduate of Rossville High School and a 2008 graduate of University of Evansville with a degree in political science. He had lived in St. Louis and Las Vegas for a short time. He was currently a data director for the Texas State Democratic Party. James was a member of the Lambda Chi Fraternity at the University of Evansville and a member of the Democratic Party. He was an Indianapolis Colts and Pacer fan.
Along with his parents, of Frankfort, he is survived by his fiancée, Kristi Stemler, of St. Louis; three brothers, Brian (companion: Chelsea Glass) Hall, of Naples, Fla.; Christopher (Companion Myra Lolkema) Hall, of Cedar Lake; and Erik Barnett, of Indianapolis; three sisters, Sarah Barnett, at home, Rebekah Barnett, of Lafayette, and Abigail Barnett, at home; maternal grand parents, Jack and Betty Russell, of Indianapolis; and one nephew, Jackson Hall.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
