Kathleen Hargest Obituary
Kathleen Hargest, 43

Kathleen Lynn Tabert Hargest, 43

On Sunday, September 16, 2012 our awesome Kathy (Kat) passed away at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland after a courageous 18 month battle against cancer.

Kathy was born November 29, 1968 in Lafayette, IN to Harold and Sandy Tabert of IN. Siblings are Pam of IN, Barb of PA, Jeanie (husband, Mike) of PA, Brian (wife, Kristen) of MI.

She attended Oxford Elementary and graduated from Benton Central High School and the University of Indianapolis. She worked for Southwest Airlines for 13 years in Dallas TX, Tampa FL, and Baltimore MD.

Brian Hargest and Kathy eloped to Florida in 2004. They have a home in Frederick, MD with their three beautiful children Madison (6), McKenzie (4), and Aiden (2), who are the love and joy of her life.

Aunt Kathy is loved, adored and missed by her two nieces and 10 nephews. Kathy is joining her favorite Aunt Charlotte Piggott in heaven, who passed away in June 2012 from breast cancer.

She was very active in church, bible studies, MOPS, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. (down syndrome group). She loved concerts, photography, singing, snow and water skiing, traveling, dancing, laughing, and being with her family and many friends. Kathy made everyone feel that they were her best friend!

Because of her strong faith we release her into the arms of God to be a beautiful free spirit; whole and pain free.

Over 400 family and friends from all over the U.S. celebrated her life on September 10th at Frederick Christina Fellowship in Frederick, MD.

We invite you to join us on October 20th, 2012 at Oxford United Methodist Church in Oxford, IN to share memories and celebrate Kat's life at 2pm with service following visitation.

Instead of flowers donations may be made for a memorial in Indiana sent to Harold & Sandy Tabert, 5421E 900S, Pine Village, IN 47975.
