Marian Arlys (Holten) Beardmore

Marian Arlys (Holten) Beardmore, 73, of La Crosse, Wis., died Saturday, September 29, 2012, at her son's home in Lafayette, following a long fight with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. She was born April 11, 1939, in Spring Grove, Minn., to the late Albert and Mabel (Rosendahl) Holten. Marian married Romaine Beardmore on June 14, 1957, and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1985.

Marian graduated from Spring Grove High School, Spring Grove, Minn., in 1957 and Austin Peay State University in 1983. She worked at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center for 19 years before retiring December 31, 2011. Marian was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in La Crosse, Wis. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, cooking, sewing, word search puzzles, finding bargains, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Lillian) Beardmore and Michael (Noreen) Beardmore, both of Lafayette; ten grandchildren, Eric, David, Caitriona, Thomas, Brian, John, William, Michael, Anne, and Caroline Beardmore; three sisters, Idella (Eugene) Papenfuss, of Holmen, Wis., Doris (Glen) Thomas, of Fountain, Minn., and Linda Sanders (Tom), of Waukon, Iowa; and three brothers, Richard (Florene) Holten, of Cresco, Iowa, Charles (Judy) Holten, of Spring Grove, Minn., and David Holten (Diane), of Spring Grove, Minn.

In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles, and an infant granddaughter, Mary Clare.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 721 King St., La Crosse, Wis. The Rev. Wesley White will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
