Fowler - Mark Dorsey, 52, of Fowler, died unexpectedly Friday, July 19, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Central, Lafayette. He was born on May 20, 1961, the son of Dave Dorsey and the late Helen Skoog Dorsey. On September 10, 1988, he married the love of his life, Mika Lea Price. He was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.
He was raised in Fowler, and attended Fowler Elementary and Benton Central Schools.
He was employed by Kirby Risk for 7 years before returning to his home town to work side by side with his father and mother. Mark loved working at the Dorsey Hardware Store and serving the town in which he always loved and called home. He attended Hardware Shows and Elvis Events. He dearly loved his family and showed it by attending family reunions.
He was past and present President of Fowler Chamber of Commerce. He played baseball on a league in Lafayette. He was an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed all sports especially the sports he coached for his children, and he enjoyed Go-Kart racing with his son.
His artistic abilities included painting, playing the guitar, and singing. After high school, he played in a band.
Mark will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Mika, Son, Mitchell, and daughter, Michelle, all at home. Also, father, David, sister, Marcia (Bert James).
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Helen, and his sister, Denise Dorsey-Zinn (Jeff).
Visitation will be Thursday, July 25, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with service to follow, at the Fowler Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family of Mark Dorsey. Arrangements by Windler Funeral Home.
