Mary J. Owens

West Lebanon - Mary Jane (Pycke) Owens, 77, West Lebanon, passed away at the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 9:12 a.m.

Mary was born at home in Attica, IN, on September 2, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Alphonse Pycke and Edna (Armtrout) Pycke-Warrick. She was raised in Attica and attended Attica High School. For the past 54 years she has resided in West Lebanon.

Mary worked as a supervisor for General Electric in Danville. She had worked for 26 years for General Electric at the time of her retirement.

Mary was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 and American Legion Post # 52 both of Attica. She enjoyed raising and showing her poodles. She especially enjoyed being with family and grandchildren.

On April 26, 1952, Mary married William "Hermie" Owens in Attica. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2010.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Diana K. (Jim) Davis, West Lebanon, Debbie (Bob) Beckett, Williamsport; a son, Roger L. Owens, Georgetown, KY; two sisters, Catherine Elmore, Attica, and Clara Minnick, Veedersburg; a brother, Paul Pycke, Attica; five grandchildren, Marcie (Marty) Blessing, Jamie (Greg) Kerr, Catie (Denny) Weaver, Bobbie (Chad) Kiefer and Rob (Holly) Beckett; 15 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary Service will be recited at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, April 21st at 4:30 p.m. with visitation to follow from 5:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Attica, on Tuesday, April 22nd at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Rasner officiating. Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery, West Lebanon, IN.
