Monique Helene Aymonier Hogan, 80, of Richmond, died August 1, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. Monique was born November 30, 1931 in Biarritz, France to Sylvia Seifert Gratz and Henri Aymonier. She married Edward Ryan Hogan on October 1, 1955.
Monique and her family moved many times before settling in Richmond in 1973. She graciously became a fixture in each town she lived in. Monique was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in New Paris, Ohio and a former member of the Elks Club, as well as the Forest Hills Country Club and Highland Lakes, where she pursued her passion of golf. Besides being a great sports enthusiast, Monique enjoyed reading, water aerobics and her family and friends. Two of her passions were volunteering both at the Morrison-Reeves Library as well as the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County, where she was awarded "Volunteer of the Year," twice.
Survivors include her children Helene Bishop, Loretta Rush (Jim Rush), both of Lafayette, James E. Hogan (Donna Hogan), of Atlanta, Ga., and Ryan Hogan (Marla Hogan), of Richmond. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Shawn, Laurenne, Jake, Mary, Rachel, Sarah, Ben, Ryanne, Blake, Jesse and Luke. She is also survived by her stepmother, Julie Aymonier, and sisters, Denise, Laurie, Jan, Michelle and Ashley, and a brother, Henri.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at St John's Catholic Church with the Reverend Tom Fitzsimmons, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County, 1717 South L Street Richmond, IN 47374.
