Lafayette - Ozina "Susie" (Crowder) Hancock Warner, 82, Lafayette, passed away at her residence in Lafayette on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at 4:30 a.m., following an illness with cancer.
Susie was born in Barren County, Ky., on December 20, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Garlin Crowder and Lizzie Pearl (Brown) Crowder Sandlan. She was raised and educated in Kentucky, later moving to the Attica Community. Since leaving Attica in the 60's, she has resided in Lafayette.
She was a former member of the Baptist Church in Covington. She enjoyed raising flowers and traveling throughout the United States.
Susie formerly worked as an inspector at Essex-United Technologies in Lafayette, retiring in 2000.
Susie was first married to William Elwood Hancock, Sr. on February 11, 1947, in Attica. He preceded her in death. She later married Charles Labor Warner on December 6, 1957, in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1983.
Susie leaves behind two daughters, Linda (companion-Bob Schilling) Doeden, Lafayette and Janet (husband-John) Beck, South Bend; a brother, Carl Crowder, Veedersburg; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, William Elwood Hancock, Jr. and Gary Wright; a brother, James Crowder; and a great-grandson, Christopher Driebergen.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, January 19, from noon until service time at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Badgley officiating. Burial will follow in the Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
