Dr. Richard Edwin Poulson of Laramie, Wyo., died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, in Lafayette. Richard was born in Detroit, on September 26, 1928, to Otto Poulson and Corinne (Matteson) Hendricks. After service in the U.S. Navy, Richard earned a Ph.D. and had a productive career as a research chemist. Richard and Alyce Jean Thompson were married on August 28, 1954, in Grand Rapids, Mich. They made their lifelong home in Laramie. Richard is survived by his wife and their four children; Jeannie, Sharon (Michael Graf), of Springfield, Ill., Mary (Raymon Donahue), of Ellensburg, Wash., David (Susan Pennington), of Windsor, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Charlie and Henry Donahue. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert, and his sister Grace Karsten. A memorial service will be held on Sunday Dec. 9, 2012, at Stidham United Methodist Church.
