Rita Ann Henrichs, 82

Rita Ann Hamilton Henrichs, 82, of Sarasota, Fla. Formerly, of Mulberry, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at home, following a short battle with cancer. Born oin Lafayette, she was the daughter of Clifford L. Hamilton and Vera L. (Kenrich) Hamilton. Her marriage was to Herbert W. Henrichs on June 11, 1950, in Lafayette.

Rita was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and attended Purdue University. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Sarasota, Fla., and Miriam Circle, United Methodist Women, First United Methodist Church, Sarasota, Fla., holding various officer and committee positions.

Surviving is Herbert W. Henrichs, her husband of 62 years. Also surviving are daughters, Sandra (Ned) Swanson, of Lafayette, Donna Vliet, of Sarasota, Fla., Shirley LaPenna, of Bradenton, Fla.; and son, David (Renee) Henrichs, of Sarasota, Fla. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Beth (Andrew) Beaumont, of Oswego, Ill., Alan (Dara) Swanson, of O'Fallon, Mo., Marshall (Nadia) Vliet, of Lilburn, Ga., Stacey (Stevan) Holmes, of Port Charlotte, Fla., Brandon (Christen) Henrichs, of Riverview, Fla., Ashlee Henrichs, of Riverview, Fla., Andrew LaPenna, and Nicholas LaPenna, of Bradenton, Fla.; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Rita was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Jay Hamilton.

A celebration of Rita's life was held at St. Johns United Methodist Church, Sarasota, Fla. on Friday, December 14, 2012, the Rev. Thomas R. Fuller officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238, or to the .
