Robert James Cooley

FOWLER - Robert James Cooley, 87, of Fowler, passed away January 1, 2013. He was born in Earl Park, Indiana,

On October 23, 1925, the son of James B. Cooley and Dorothy Hardebeck Cooley.

He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955, where he was attached to Patrol Squadron

Sixteen, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida. He returned to Indiana and started his life long career of grain farming and raising Black Angus. He was employed by the Farm Service Agency for 40 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Fowler.

Robert was married to his wife, Melva J. Belunis for 59 years. They raised four children, Carol (Stephen) Reed, Pamela (Charles) Masten, Rebecca (Donald) Stengele-Cooley, and John (Dawn) Cooley. One brother, Gerald (Portia) Cooley of Phoenix, Arizona, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren survive.

Rosary at 4 pm., with visitation until 7 pm. on Friday,

January 4, 2013, at Windler Funeral Home, Fowler. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am., Saturday,

January 5, 2013, at Sacred Heart Church, Fowler. Fr. Donald Gross officiating. Burial will be at

St. Joseph Cemetery, Kentland, In. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to , Sacred Heart School, or Almost Home Humane Society.
