Robert "Bob" James Rosen, 85
The Guest Book is expired.
Waynetown - Robert "Bob" James Rosen, age 85, of rural Waynetown, died 2:20 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013 Franciscan St. Elizabeth Central Hospital, Lafayette. He was born to the late Floyd and Ruth Kline Rosen on June 14, 1927, Flag Day. On October 7, 1949 he married Louise 'Lou' Wethington, she survives. Together they raised a family in the same house on the family farm he was raised.
Bob graduated from Waynetown High School and he served in the US Army. He was stationed in Germany during World War II. In addition to being a life-long farmer, he drove a school bus 40 years for North Montgomery School Corporation. He decided when he was transporting the third generation of students, it was time to retire. Bob was very patriotic and was a proud charter member of the Waynetown American Legion Post 445. A member of the Waynetown Baptist Church, he served as an usher, deacon and trustee.
Bob had a love of the land. Until his health prevented him from being actively involved in farming activities, his thoughts were never far away, always checking in to see what was going on, on the farm. He had a very caring spirit, a deep love for his family and proud of his grandchildren who brought him great joy. He was a positive, 'glass half full' kind of person with an ever present smile.
Bob is also survived by three children, Diana (Robert) Hall of Romney, Charles (Kim) Rosen of Crawfordsville, and James (Mag) Rosen of Waynetown; six grandchildren, Brandon Hall, Chad (Kelly) Rosen, Carrie Hall, Clint (Lindsey) Rosen, Christopher (Jamie) Rosen, Tyler (Kristin) Rosen; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan Hall, David Hall, Austin Rosen, Maxwell Rosen, Carter Rosen, Connor Rosen, and Henry Rosen; a niece, Brenda LeJeune,; and one great-nephew, Bill Kunkel. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Jane Kiger.
