WILLIAMSPORT — Robert Dale Wilkinson, 83, West Lebanon, died at 10:50 a.m. on Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Robert was born in Veedersburg on November 21, 1929. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Gladys (Booe) Wilkinson. He was raised in the Attica area and attended school in Newtown. He had been a resident of West Lebanon since 1964.
Robert had formerly worked at Harrison Steel Casting Co. and the Attica Grain Elevator before retiring in 1990. He had also worked as a farm hand for local farmers. He enjoyed fishing and repairing bicycles, gardening and selling night crawlers to local fisherman. He also liked to play the harmonica and doing the body work on cars.
On January 27, 1955, Robert married Treva Ann Ricketts.
She preceded him in death on August 22, 1990.
Robert leaves behind five children, Karlena Dixon, of West Lebanon, Tammy (husband: Jack) Lang, of Covington, David Wilkinson and Candy (husband: Myron) Kirkpartrick, both, of Attica and Darrell (wife: Mitzi) Wilkinson, of Lafayette; three brothers, Larry (wife: Vinnie) Wilkinson and Merlin Wilkinson, both of Peru, and Bill Wilkinson, of Attica; two sisters, Rita Calvert, of Attica and Carolyn (husband: Carl) Childress, along with a sister-in-law, Margaret Wilkinson, both of Peru; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Loris, Lester and Richard Wilkinson; two sisters, Ellen Carter and Margie Crowder; along with a granddaughter, Summer Star Cheeseman.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, November 27th, from 12 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m.; Steve Padgett officiating.
Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery.
