Roland Minor Morehouse, 82, of Rockville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 5:25 AM
at St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil, Indiana.
Born February 5, 1931 in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of Melville E. and Mabel Reynolds Morehouse. Roland is survived by his wife, Jennie Cox Morehouse, whom he married on June 20, 1950 in Lafayette, Indiana.
Also surviving are four sons; Ron (Wife, Karen) Morehouse of West Lafayette, Indiana; Richard (Wife, Ann) Morehouse; Robert (Companion, Kathy) Morehouse; and Rodney (Companion, Julie) Morehouse, all of Lafayette, Indiana. Ten Grandchildren: Khiara Seabrase (Joe), Casey McDonald (Mark), Courtney Woods (Mike), Derek Morehouse (Leslie), Rhett Morehouse (Molly), Ryan, Megan, Reid, Leah, and Kelsey Morehouse; 6 Great Grandchildren: Mikey, Sydney, Gavin, Carter, Marley and Cole. Survived by 1 Brother, Gerald Morehouse of Royal Center, Indiana; 4 Sisters: Loramae Lawson of Buffalo, Indiana; Ruth Mogle of Arizona; Helen Morris and Pat Williams, both of Lafayette, Indiana
Roland is preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Dave and Dan Morehouse and a Daughter-in-law, Angie.
Roland previously worked as a Supervisor at T.R.W. in Lafayette, Indiana and graduated from Buffalo High School. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #724 F& AM in West Lafayette, Indiana. Roland enjoyed spending time with his family at his home on Raccoon Lake. His hobbies included raising and showing Labrador Retrievers, fishing, NASCAR, outdoor activities, bowling, watching sports and was a Purdue fan. "Flash" enjoyed engaging people in colorful - lively conversations. He was a State Finalist in the 100 Yard Dash in high school.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Barnes and Rice Funeral Home, 111 East High Street in Rockville with Pastor Keith McIntyre officiating.
Friends may call on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 11:00 AM until time of the service at 1:00 PM.
Cremation has been chosen.
