Roy Caldwell Obituary
Roy Caldwell, 52

Roy Caldwell, former Lafayette resident, passed on July 16, 2012 at age 52 with family by his side in his home in Flower Mound, TX; his death was a result of a yearlong battle with brain cancer.

Roy was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 15, 1960 to the late Karl and Mary Ann Moser Caldwell.

Roy attended high school in Lafayette, IN and graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1977. He continued his education at the Pennsylvania State University, graduating with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1982, at The Ohio State University with a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1995, and at Southern Methodist University with a M.B.A in 2004.

Roy's greatest passion was to excel at everything he did. He was dedicated to his hobbies of cycling, playing piano, and flying small aircraft, a lifelong dream that he made possible through obtaining his pilots' license in 2007. He was devoted to his career as General Manager at Holman Boiler Works in Dallas, TX. Above all, he strived to be the best husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend that he could be. His passion for life continues to inspire all with whom he came into contact.

Roy is survived by his wife, Peggy Sorenson Caldwell; sons, Brady and Tyler Caldwell; sister, Judy (husband, Dan) Edwards (Lafayette, IN); and brother, Blake Caldwell (Laurinburg, NC).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to: Baylor Neuro-Oncology Foundation, c/o Karen Fink, MD, 3600 Gaston Ave. Suite 100, Dallas, TX 75246.
