Russell C. "Russ" Foley, 83

Russell C. "Russ" Foley, 83, of Lafayette, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital. Born July 21, 1930 near Brownstown, IN, he was the son of the late Porter and Margaret (Davenport) Foley. Russ was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force, serving from 1950 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict. While in the service, Russ married Sally Montoya on October 5, 1952 in San Bernadino, CA and she survives. For 32 ½ years, Russ worked for the West Lafayette Waste Water Treatment Plant, retiring in 1992 as the Superintendant. And for most of Russ's life, he worked on small engines and other items for friends and family. Russ was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where he served as an usher for over 20 years.

In addition to his wife Sally, Russ is survived by their five children: Robert "Bob" Foley of Tallahassee, FL, Carol Ann King (husband, Ron) of Fountaintown, IN, Richard T. "Rick" Foley (wife, Tarri) of New Palestine, IN, Chris Foley of Lafayette, and David J. Foley (wife, Rebecca) of Indianapolis. Russ is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Donna Foley, and two sisters, Nell Jewell and Audrey Stants.

Memorial visitation from 9 a.m. until the memorial service 10 a.m. Saturday at Hippensteel Funeral Home with Father Tim Alkire officiating and with military honors.
