Ryan James (Pitzel) Gushlak, 21, of Lafayette, Indiana died on Friday March 29th, 2013. Ryan, born August 27, 1991, was the son of Debbie Lynn Magne and Gary Gilbert Pitzel.
At the young age of 11, Ryan began his dream of becoming a great tennis player and moved to Tampa, Fl where he attended Saddlebrook Tennis Academy. Rising in ability, he was soon privately coached by some of the greatest tennis coaches, including Kelly Rose and Pascal Collard. Throughout his tennis career, Ryan was fortunate enough to be able to play and meet with some of the world's greatest tennis legends, including Jim Courier, John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi and Rafael Nadal.
Ryan enjoyed a full and exciting life of great adventures and achievements, including world travels, boating, scuba diving (Master Diver), and skiing. Ryan was currently attending his third year at Purdue College, majoring in Military Science / Law Society and was an active member of the Alpha Delta Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity. Ryan was known for his great spirit and love for life.
He is survived by many friends and family that loved him dearly, including his mother, Debbie Lynn Magne of Cayman Islands, father Gary Gilbert Pitzel (wife Anne) of Ontario, Canada and his older brother Eric Michael (Pitzel) Gushlak, currently attending school in Pennsylvania, his maternal grandparents, Bruno and Lucille Magne of Manitoba, Canada.
