Vanda L. Deaton, 67

Vanda L. Deaton, 67, of Lafayette, died at 8:52 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Indiana University Health ER.

She was born March 7, 1945, in Lafayette, to the late Ernest and Katherine Grider Boardman.

Vanda was a graduate from Boswell High School in Benton County class of 1963.On August 28, 1968, she married Gerald Dean Deaton and he passed away on July 9, 1993.

She had several businesses over the years that she owned and operated. She enjoyed horses, training them and showing them for over 20 years she was also member of the Boswell Ambulance Board and Business Mens Association in Boswell.

Surviving are two sons, Ralph D. Underwood and Jeffery Deaton, both of Lafayette; daughter, Deana Paker, of Romney; two sisters, Sandra Green, of Logansport and Elnora (husband: Thomas) Gress, of Hoopeston, Ill.; and grandchildren, Bobby and Daniel Parker, Shay and Michael and Tristin Deaton.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by one brother.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel.

Funeral Service scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel; Pastor Owen Mason officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
