Vivian V. (Howard) Sherman, 78, of Rossville, passed away at 7:05 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Milner Nursing Home in Rossville. Born October 21, 1934, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Shilling) Howard.
Vivian married Harry P. Sherman on August 11, 1952, in Lafayette and he survives. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Comfort Nursing Home in Lafayette for 15 years before her retirement. She also took care of children and worked with the elderly. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Katrina Wooten (husband, Marty) of Monticello and Dianna Hare (husband, Clark) of Lafayette, a son, Freddy Sherman of Rossville; five grandchildren, Valentin, Angel, and Joshua Salazar, and Dianna Fellows, and Corinna Cortez; nine great-grandchildren, Arianna, Aniyah, Kayden, and Joel Salazar, Natasha, Tiara, and Dakota Howard, and Jessica and Danielle Cortez; and one great great-grandson, Isaiah. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and two sisters.
Services will be on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Simplicity Funeral Care. Father Dominic Young will be officiating the service.
