Wilbur "Dutch" Weaver, 99

Wilbur "Dutch" Weaver, 99, of West Lafayette, died, Friday, December 14, 2012, at Green Tree Assisted Living, where he had been a resident for the past 11 and half years. He was born, September 8, 1913, in Carroll County, to the late Earl and Matilda (Schutz) Weaver. He married Ethel "Pat" Leslie, June 16, 1940, in Rossville; she died December 22, 1981.

He attended Delphi schools. He had worked for Colonial Bread Company, from 1940 until 1965; Saps Donuts, from 1965 until he retired in 1976, he then worked part-time at the Purdue Co-Rec. from 1979 until 2001. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards, especially bid euchre.

He is survived by his Daughter, Jeanie (husband, Jim) VanSchepen, West Lafayette, Son, Larry (Wife, Shirley) Weaver, Phoenix, Daughter-in-Law, Cheryl Weaver, Lafayette; 5 Grandchildren, Jill (Terry) VanSchepen Weaver, Plano, Texas, Julie (Brian) VanSchepen Gaines, Allen, Texas, Jeff (Amy) VanSchepen, Bloomington, Ill., Karen (Mark) Weaver Bezy, Vincennes, Elizabeth (Danny) Thompson, Lakeland, Fla., and 7 Great-Grandchildren. His Wife; Son, Alan "Butch" Weaver; 2 Brothers, Reed & Eugene "Pete" Weaver and 2 Sisters, Mary Parish & Tony Cripe, precedes him in death.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 19, 2012, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, with Pastor John Randall officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Memorial Contributions to Otterbein United Methodist Church Building Fund. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, is assisting the family.
