William R. "Bill" Robertson, 81

William R. "Bill" Robertson, 81, of Delphi, died Fri-Apr. 26, 2013 at 5:13am, at IU Health Arnett Hospital-Lafayette. He had been there since Monday after a brief illness. He was born Dec 28, 1931 in Decatur, IL, to the late Owen & Viola Coay Robertson. His first marriage was to Doris J. Booker, in Decatur, IL, on Oct 6, 1957, and she preceded him in death on Sept 1, 2008. His second marriage was to Sandi Heaton Ward, in Virginia Beach, VA, on Sept 26, 2012, and she survives. He was a 1949 graduate of Tolono High School, and was a Korean War Veteran serving from 1949-1953 in the U.S. Navy, on the LSD Carter-Hall, as a radar specialist. He worked and retired from Allis Chalmers Cryogenic Tank Division in Decatur, in quality control, then worked for Monticello Tank in quality control, retiring from there. He was a member of the Monticello American Legion; Monticello Moose Lodge #906. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and traveling. Surviving: wife Sandi Robertson of Delphi; daughter: Barbara J. Robertson, companion Dean Draper of West Lafayette; sister: Dorothy "Dottie" Pottorff on Tolono, IL; brother: Robert D. Robertson Sr. of Decatur, IL; stepdaughter: Shelia & Randy Lacy of Tipton; stepson: Sergeant First Class Kenneth & Barbara Trinoskey of Hinesville, GA; 10 step grand and great grandchildren.

Services: There will be a memorial service Sat-May 4, 2013, at 2:00pm, at the Monticello Moose Lodge. Memorial contributions to the donor's charity.
